Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship- preparing to take off (to start that business) is one of the toughest decisions any entrepreneur has encountered, when you have to either resign (leave a secure job), quit school, venture in to uncertain world where there are no guarantees. Every entrepreneur is a gambler, a risk taker, a rebel (go against his/her current circumstances), self deluded (see and believe in an opportunity that others have not yet seen).
Great businesses started small and grew to become big business we see today, like most of great companies in US Started somewhere in Garage like Apple. It does not matter where you start today but what matters is where you want to be. Having a clear vision of what your business should be and do matters a-lot .

Common characteristics of entrepreneurs:-

1.       Passion- They passionately seek new opportunities that revolutionize their business models, examine how costs are incurred, how revenues can be generated and how operations are conducted. They usually start a business that they are passionate about, they don’t do it for the money but they follow their passion.

2.       High Risk takers – They have appetite for risk, capitalize on uncertainty many of us would avoid it, create simplicity where we see complexity and embrace learning that come from taking a calculated risk.

3.       Focus on execution- They are always combining ideas on how and when to execute instead of analyzing their ideas. (It’s not a bad thing to analyze. On a piece of paper write all reasons why you business will and not work. Compare the results, if positive move forward and execute.)

4.       Highly Disciplined- They pursue only the very best opportunities, resist chasing every available option that comes up. They limit the number of projects/ideas to pursue. Say no to 1000 things, by doing less you are able to do more.

5.       Act as if failure was impossible- They engage all energies and resources to the business they are venturing in to, they do not have second thought or a Plan B. This where self delusion applies, in spite of low sales numbers, they are always optimistic the business will survive.

6.     Real Entrepreneurs ship - A real entrepreneur ships no matter what, you have to deliver your product or service to the market and let the customers judge if its a great product or its crap. Many of us are sitting in our offices and home's with great ideas waiting, you may never know how great you business can be unless you go and test in the market.
